Recently, I got a requirement to hide and show a few of HTML controls like button, checkboxes, div tag, paragraph tag and etc. Many students and developer who just started their career in the IT sector and who are the beginner they may don't know how actually archive such requirement So, In this article, I will explain everything in a detailed explanation about the linkup of bootstrap and angular js with the application, angular js directives, validations, and much other relevant information about the angular js with simple example so they can understand the concept easily.

I have written many articles on angular js and bootstrap 4 that you may like to read. So, Lets we start with and simple example to check whether the number is even number or odd. Here we will design our web form with one textbox for accepting user input in the form of a number and two div tag one for display even number and second for the odd number. While a user enters number 2 in the text box then we will display a message in the div tag even " The number 2 is an even number.

The angular directive ng-controller is responsible for control the flow of data within the application. In the angular js controller, we have set the default value of our number and then write a function to evaluate if a number is even or odd.

Then I have created a directive number where I validate the textbox of user input and accept only numbers as an input. You can see in the HTML markup written above, here we have used angular js directive ng-show to manage div tag of odd and even number, as you can see we have two different div tag divEven and divOdd and we will hide and show this division tag based on the output true or false return by angular js controller and based on that we will hide and show div tag of an odd number and even number vice versa.

In this article, we learned how to hide or show HTML elements using ng-Show angularjs directive as well as how to validate an HTML control using angular js and how to link up the angular js and bootstrap with a web application.

Add Comments More Settings. The Angular 4 ngIf will add or remove an elements from the DOM, based on a condition such as true or false. Its like a form. All I want is to show the elements whenever necessary and hide when not required. The method updates a variable that will create the toggle effect. Based on the condition, it will show or hide elements inside the container.

Open the app. I have defined two properties named show and buttonName. The first property is Boolean property, which I have bind to the ngIf directive in my applications template. The second property optional is buttonName of type any. It has a default value as Show. I also wish to change the name of the button for every click. That is, it should show the name as Show when the elements are hidden and change to Hide when the elements are visible.

Practical example of this scenario is notification button on Facebook. When it is clicked, notification list appears and when it is clicked again, the list disappears. This post will explain a couple of methods in which this can be done in angular. When the value of hidden property is truethe element is not displayed. Similarly, when it is falsethe element is shown.

Bind the hidden property to a component property of boolean type so that it can only have a true or false value. When this button is clicked, the div toggles its display.

Spring boot aws sqs listener example

Below is the corresponding component class which contains the property isShow which controls the display of div and a function toggleDisplay which handles the click event of button. This function reverses the value of property isShow when the button is clicked.

Initially, the property isShow is set to false which means that the div is visible. When the button is clicked, it sets the property isShow to false and the div is not displayed.

Method 2 : Using ngIf directive ngIf directive is applied to an element and is bound to a component property or a condition. If the condition evaluates to truethe element is displayed else not. Above example can be modified to use ngIf as shown below. Component class for this approach is the same as for the earlier method since there is no change in the logic behind.

Note that the condition for ngIf is! This is because we have initialized isShow to false in the component class. Difference between ngIf and hidden property hidden property makes the element invisible while it is present on the page. It adds the same effect as by applying CSS property display: none. If ngIf directive is applied to an element and its condition evaluates to falsethe element is removed from the page, you will not see it in source.

This is because behind the scenes it adds the same effect as CSS property display: none.

However it does not add! Browsers also do not add! This means that if any other style is already applied to the element, hidden will not work. Hence if you have a choice between hidden and ngIfgo with ngIf. Never Miss an article! Get the new post delivered straight into your inbox, enter your email and hit the button.

When Blake Bortles and Chad Henne are the quarterbacks, running the ball should be a priority. But these are the Jags. Trusting them to do the smart thing is risky. His upright style results in a lot of hits and that leads to nagging injuries. Watson has ability, but as long as Tom Savage is ahead of him on the depth chart, the former Clemson Tiger should be avoided.

Maybe he steals the starting job by the end of September. Or maybe he remains stuck in a committee all season. Not worth the headache.
